Collage templates for the days worth a collage
Each occasion is a style family, a starting title and a few stickers, chosen together. Opening one takes you to the editor with it already applied; add your photos and change anything. Your layout and photos are never touched by an occasion, so you can also try one on a collage you have already made — it is in the Style step.
Everything here happens in this tab — no server sees your pictures.
Birthday
Bright ground, a title band and confetti in two corners.
- Size
- Square for the family group, story for the day-of post.
- Photos
- Four to six. One of the person alone, the rest with people.
- Why it looks like this
- Rounded tiles on a sea-glass ground read as a party without needing balloons, and the confetti sits in the two top corners where it frames the collage instead of covering a face. The title goes in a band at the bottom so the top row of photos stays clean.
Wedding
A wide gallery mount with a serif title and one small heart.
- Size
- 5 × 7 in print for a thank-you card, tall post for sharing.
- Photos
- Three or five — an odd count gives one photo the lead slot.
- Why it looks like this
- A wide gallery mount and a serif title are the quietest look in the set, which is the point: the photographs are already formal. The single heart is small and above the collage, not on it.
Travel
Prints dropped on the page, a sun, and an arrow onward.
- Size
- 6 × 4 in print, or widescreen for a laptop wallpaper.
- Photos
- Six to twelve, in the order you went.
- Why it looks like this
- Photos on white print edges with a soft shadow look like prints laid on a table. The title sits in a top band so it reads first, like the heading on a postcard; the arrow bottom-left points on to the next place.
Graduation
Bold teal gutters, a big title and a pair of stars.
- Size
- Tall post, or A4 in print for the fridge.
- Photos
- Four: the gown, the certificate, the family, the friends.
- Why it looks like this
- Thick deep-teal gutters make even four quite different photos read as one set. Two stars in the top corners, a big title band above, and nothing on the photos themselves.
New baby
A heart-shaped collage on a blush wash, with a cloud.
- Size
- Square or 4 × 6 in print.
- Photos
- Six or more small photos — the heart shape crops the corners.
- Why it looks like this
- The whole collage is cut to a heart on a blush wash. Shape collages lose the outside corners of the corner slots, so put the close-ups in the middle; the arrange step in Layout can do that for you.
Festive
A night ground, sparkles and a warm title — Diwali, Christmas, Eid, New Year.
- Size
- Story for sending round, square for the group chat.
- Photos
- Six to nine, ideally with lights in them.
- Why it looks like this
- A night ground with a hairline in each tile flatters photos taken after dark, and the warm sparkles do the rest. The title is deliberately general — Diwali, Christmas, Eid or New Year — and is the first thing to type over.
What an occasion does, exactly
It sets the gutters, outer edge, corner rounding, frame and ground of one of the nine style families; it writes a title and caption into a band above or below the photos in that family’s typeface and colour; it replaces any stickers with its own two or three; and for the new-baby template it cuts the collage to a heart. It does not change which layout you are in, which photo is in which slot, or how any photo is framed — so one step of undo takes it all back off.
The titles are placeholders in the plainest sense. “Happy birthday” is what you type over with a name. Every occasion is also only a starting point for the style: change the ground or the gutters afterwards and the collage simply stops matching the template, which is fine.
Before you start
Pick the size first if the collage is going to print — the print sizes are set at 300 pixels per inch and the PDF is one page at the real paper size. The guides below say what each app crops and how many photos read well at each size.
