How to make a collage automatically
- Drop the photos. Two to thirty. As they open, the layout grows to fit the count, choosing the one that keeps the most of each photo.
- Let it arrange. Once they are in, the photos are moved to the slots that suit their shape and each one is framed on where its detail is. A sentence says what moved and the least any slot keeps.
- Keep faces whole, if you want. The face finder is offered in the Photos step, with its size on the button. It never runs on its own.
- Change anything. Swap two slots by dragging, pick another layout, or undo the whole arrangement in one step.
What it decides, and how
Three decisions are made for you. First the layout: every candidate for your count is priced by how much of each photo its slots would keep, pairing the widest photo with the widest slot, and the best is used. Second, which photo goes where: every photo is priced against every slot by the share of the photo the slot keeps and by how much of its detail the best framing keeps, and the cheapest arrangement is solved exactly, not guessed. Third, the framing: each photo is drawn once at a small size to see where the detail is, and the slot is slid to keep it.
None of this needs a download or leaves the tab. It takes a few milliseconds a photo, and it is described in the panel as where the detail is — not as artificial intelligence, because it is arithmetic.
Faces are an extra step, on purpose
Detail is not the same thing as a face; a busy background can pull the framing off a person. The face finder fixes that, but it is a 224 KB model file, so it is offered rather than run: press Keep faces whole and it downloads once, says so first, and from then on re-uses what it found for each photo without downloading again.
The arrangement is one undo step. Press Ctrl and Z and every photo goes back to where it was.
Questions people ask about this one
Does it use AI?
The layout choice, the arrangement and the detail framing are ordinary arithmetic that runs in your browser. The optional face finder is a small machine-learning model that also runs in your browser; your photos are never sent to it anywhere.
Can I stop it changing my layout?
Yes. Pick any layout in the Layout step and it stays; turn off Grow with my photos in the Photos step to stop it changing when you add more.
What does keeps at least 58% mean?
Every slot shows at least that share of its photo's area. A wide photo in a tall slot loses its sides; the arrangement tries to keep that loss small everywhere.
How many photos can it arrange?
Up to thirty in one collage.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The photos are read, arranged and saved inside this tab.
