How to make a vision board

  1. Gather the pictures. Your own photos, screenshots, pictures of places — anything you have saved. Up to thirty.
  2. Place them. Each one lands square to the page. Drag to move, use the corner to resize and the top handle to turn; arrow keys move, Shift makes bigger steps.
  3. Name the board. Type over This year in the Text step, and add a caption under it.
  4. Decorate a little. Stars, sparkles, arrows and hearts are in the Text step, drawn so they print sharply.
  5. Print or keep it. It is A4 landscape at 3508 × 2480 pixels. Save as PDF for one A4 page, or as a JPG for a phone wallpaper.

Freeform, because a board is not a grid

A vision board works when it is arranged by feel: the big goal large and in the middle, the smaller ones round it, some overlapping. That is Freeform mode. Every photo is a whole print — nothing cropped — that you place, size and turn yourself, and Bring to front lifts any one above the rest. The arrangement is saved in this browser as you go, so closing the tab and coming back later brings it back.

Landscape A4 is the default because a board is usually printed and pinned up, or kept as a desktop background; the Layout step has the portrait A4, the story shape and the rest.

What it does not do yet

Short labels you can place anywhere — the words beside each picture on many boards — are not built yet; for now there is one title and one caption, in a band at the top or bottom. Stickers can mark a picture instead.

Nothing on the board is sent anywhere; it is made and kept on your device.

Questions people ask about this one

Is this vision board maker free?

Yes, with no sign-up and nothing uploaded.

Can I add words to each picture?

Not yet — one title and one caption per board for now.

Can I print it?

Yes. PDF saves one A4 page at the real paper size; JPG saves 3508 × 2480 pixels at 300 to the inch.

Will it remember my board?

Yes, in this browser on this device, until you press Start over and forget it.

Can I use pictures I did not take?

Technically any image file opens. For a board you keep to yourself that is usually fine; if you print and share it, the pictures' owners' rights still apply.

Can I make it portrait?

Yes. A4 portrait, the tall post and the story are all in the Layout step's size list, and the pictures keep their places as fractions of the page.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The board is made and kept on your device.
