How to make a birthday collage

  1. Open the photos. Four to six is the sweet spot: one of the birthday person alone, the rest with people. They go into a lead layout with one big slot.
  2. Try the sets. The Layout step shows four birthday sets — a lead and four, prints on mist, a bold nine, a blush mosaic. Each is one tap and one undo.
  3. Write the name. In the Text step, type over Happy birthday. Hindi switches it to जन्मदिन मुबारक in a Devanagari face.
  4. Move the stickers. The confetti, balloon and cake sit in the corners. Drag, resize or remove them; there are eighteen more in the Text step.
  5. Save or share. Square for the family group, story for the day-of post. On a phone, Share sends it straight to WhatsApp.

What the birthday template sets, and what it leaves alone

It sets a look — rounded tiles on a sea-glass ground — a title and caption in a band at the bottom, and three stickers placed in the corners where they frame the collage instead of sitting on a face. It does not touch which photo is in which slot or how any photo is framed, so it can be tried on a collage you have already made, and one undo takes it off again.

The four sets are the same idea taken further: each is a layout and a style family chosen together for a birthday. Choosing one keeps your photos in order and pours them into the new layout.

A birthday title in Hindi

Many birthday collages here are for family in India, and the title is often wanted in Hindi. The Text step has a switch for that — it writes जन्मदिन मुबारक and changes the typeface to Noto Sans Devanagari, a font this site carries itself, so the letters are joined correctly on every device. You can type any Hindi or Marathi title the same way.

Every word on the collage is ordinary text in the Text step, so the placeholder is there to be typed over.
