How to frame every photo in a collage
- Open your photos. It opens on four even slots with a gallery mat. Every layout works with every frame.
- Pick a frame. In the Style step under Edges: hairline, print edge, gallery mat, thick border, double line or rounded print.
- Tune it. Gap and Outer edge set the space between framed photos. For the thick border, pick its colour from the row that appears under it. Shadow lifts each frame off the ground.
- Save. The frame is part of the picture you save, at the same proportions as on the stage.
Six frames and what each is for
A frame changes how a collage reads more than almost any other setting. A hairline keeps a grid tidy without drawing attention. A print edge — white all round with a deeper bottom — makes each photo look like a print. The gallery mat is a wide white border with a fine line close round the photo, the look of a mounted print on a wall. A thick border in a colour ties a set together with your own colour. The double line is two fine lines in a white border, a little formal. The rounded print softens every corner.
None of these is an image. Each is drawn as a filled shape under the photo, plus strokes for the mat and the double line, so it is sharp at any size and its width is a share of the slot it is in.
| Frame | Border | Good with |
|---|---|---|
| Hairline | Thin, even | Dense grids |
| Print edge | Even, deeper at the bottom | Stacks, travel |
| Gallery mat | Wide, with an inner line | Weddings, prints |
| Thick border | Solid colour | Festivals, brand colours |
| Double line | Two fine lines | Formal sets |
| Rounded print | Soft corners | Children, birthdays |
Online frames, not wall frames
This page puts frame designs round photos inside a collage picture. It does not sell or design physical multi-photo frames for a wall, and it does not put one photo in a decorative ornament.
The Festive style family uses the thick border in amber on a warm wash — one tap if you want a frame and a ground chosen together.
Questions people ask about this one
Can I choose the border colour?
Yes, for the thick border: a row of palette colours and a picker for your own appears under the frame choice.
Does a frame crop my photo?
The photo is fitted inside the frame, so the frame takes a little of the slot. Drag the photo inside its slot to choose what shows.
Do frames work in Stack mode?
Yes. Each whole print gets the same frame.
Are frames different on a print size?
No — they are a share of each slot, so a 5 × 7 print looks like the square post, only sharper.
Can I put a frame round the whole collage instead?
Raise Outer edge in the Style step and pick a ground colour: the margin becomes a border round the whole picture. The Gallery family does this with a wide white mount.
